L'Oréal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

by - 9:00:00 AM

Hello guys,

if you were here with me a month ago, you probably know, that I posted my second haul from USA, where I mentioned this foundtion. You might remember that I expected the best from this product, because this foundation has so many reviews, positively reviews and everyone loves it. Last year I had the chance to buy it for the first time, but for unknown reason I didn't, so this year this foundation was on top of USA wishlist from drugstore. Long story short, after two weeks in US my first steps in drugstore were to buy this famous foundation. And how did I like it? Keep reading..

Price
In US drugstore this foundation costs around $10.

Packaging
This foundation comes in a glass jar without pump. Well, let's talk about it. I don't know why some brands make foundations without pumps, because I've never heard anyone to say "this is the best packaging". This packaging doesn't make sense, it's not practical, you can struggle with amount you need to apply and I don't find it hygienic. So after all I really dislike this packaging, but I do appreciate that the jar is made from glass. Buying this foundation, you got 1.0 fl. oz / 30 ml, which normal  size for foundations.

Color
This color selection for drugstore foudation is quite impressive. It comes with 33 shade, which are devided in three sections according skin undertone.  W stands for warm shades, C stands for cool shades and N stands fot neautral shades. The range is great and I think everyone (pale, medium or dark tones) can find their shade. I decided to go with W2, which is second lighter shade with warm / yellow understone. In the jar this color looks like a match to my super yellow but pale skin. Right after application the color seemed to be more like neutral color, which didn't match my skin on neck at all. After 10-15 min it started to oxidize and turned into ugly orange color.

Coverage & Finish
Light to medium coverage, which you can of course build up. Finish was kinda dewy, so definitely needed to be set with some powder.

Texture & Application
The formula of this foundation is kinda thick, so no matter what tool I used for application, nothing seemed to be perfect. My fingers and brushes did the same thing - it just smeared the product all over my face and left lines, so when I was finished, it looked like I have a map on my face. When I used sponge, it was little bit better, but just a little bit. It was hard to blend out, so first I had to smear the product on my face and then do dabbing application. After all this foundation didn't sit on my face well, I felt like wearing a mask, so definitely not lightweight product. It was cakey and patchy on my cheecks and chin. It  emphasized my wrinkles around eyes and mouth and dry spots around nose and on forehead.

Longevity
I'm always honest with you guys, so I have a confession. I don't know how long this foundation stays on, because I never wear it throughout the day. The color and texture just threw me off so bad, that after every application I ended it up washing this off.

Final thoughts: I'm sorry but I hate this foundation. I never felt like this with any foundation I have owned. The color, texture, packaging, … Gosh I think I can't see anything positive about this product at all. This was huge disappointment and I regret buying this product. Thank God, I was able to return this and save my money for much better products out there. Because all of these negativities, I must say that this products worth only one star.

Have a great day!

Love, Michelle <3

  1. Aw, sad to hear you didn't like the foundation. For a while it was my go-to drugstore foundation and I loved it. Have you tried the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation? That's my current fave! :)

  2. I felt the same when I purchased a foundation from a brand I didn't know ( I don't even remember the name) from a local shop here and the girl told me that it would be great for my combination skin. It looked awful, the colour, the texture, everything.

  8. I'm not a fan of foundations without pumps - or at least a dropper of some sort! It's why I couldn't take to Estee Lauder's famous Double Wear. I mean, a pump is a LOT less messy! Thanks for the honest review x
