Bourjois, Healthy Mix foundation

Hello beauty junkies,

today I prepared for you a review on one of my favorite foundations ever - Bourjois, Healthy Mix foundation. To be honest (and you know I'm always honest with you) I've discovered this foundation not too long time ago, because I always had some difficulties to actually buy it. First thing was that this brand wasn't easy to get in here, then finally after a looong time this brand came to our local drugstores, but guess what… The lightest shade was always sold out. Then I left to USA for three months and then FINALLY in December I found the latest bottle of my shade. Hallelujah. Anyway  it's been probably 3 months since I started to use this product, but from the very beginning I love it to the moon and back and now I am going to tell you why so keep on reading.

Price
Our local drugstore sells this foundation around $12, which is pretty good deal to me. It's not the cheapest drugstore foundation, but for the job what it does I would pay even more.

Packaging
It comes in a clear glass jar with a pump system and plastic cover. I'm more than satisified with the packaging, because pump is the most hygienic packaging when it comes to creams and foundations. You get 30 ml / 1 fl. oz. which is a standard amount of product.

Color
If I am not wrong, then according the UK official site, there should be eight shades, which to be honest is not a lot, but on the other hand I must tell that their lightest shade actually suits my fair skin with super yellow undertone pretty well. So as you might recognized, I do have the lightest shade  called Light Vanilla in number 51. The color is fair with yellow undertone  and it doesn't oxidize on me, so the color is always like it should be.

Coverage & Finish
This foundation gives me a medium to full coverage. I usually use one and half or two pumps for my whole face and I get pretty decent coverage. When I need little bit more on my blemishes I add little bit more and it's perfect. Overall I think it's great for everyday use who prefer medium coverage and even for night out, because this is buildable foundation. It gives natural and healthy glow.

Texture & Application
I am not sure if I can explain that very well, but the texture of this foundation is little bit sticky ?!? I don't know how to explain this, but it's not that quite runny as I expected. When I was working this into my skin with beauty blender for the first time, I wasn't sure how to do it. I kinda swipped it all over my face and then with dabbing motion I blended in. Next time I tried to put more dots of  the foundation on my face and just blend it with dabbing motion and it worked, but took a little bit more time. It doesn't fill the pore or doesn't emphasize them (always a big plus). What I have to admit is that it did stay around my nose (some foundation just disappear in that place right after application) so plus again.

Longevity
This foundation promises 16 hours, I usually wear makeup for abour 10-12 hours and I can say that this foundation stays on and looks great all the time, so yes, I would believe that this product can stay for 16 hours. It is not smudge proof, so when I touched my nose or scratched my forehead, it did move and show little bit.

Final thoughts: As you could've expected from the beginning, I love this foundation and thanks this I don't use anything different. It gives me great coverage, perfect color match, luminous skin plus it hydrates. What else I need? Afterall I rate this product with full five stars.

What do you think about this foundation? Have you tried it?

Have a great day!

Love, Michelle <3

I've tried so many drugstore foundations but still never tried this one! It sounds right up my street though as I actually quite like that "tacky" feel, I generally don't like foundations which are too runny. Also sounds like a good shade match as I too am pale but with yellow undertones, which is always hard to find foundations for!!

    1. Yes, exactly I'm always desperate to find my perfect matching shade of foundation. This one is the closest shade from drugstore so far. If you try it, I hope I will see your review. :)

  2. I've tried quite a few bourjois foundations and although I like them I don't think the colour selection is great, its good for a everyday foundation but it's not my fave x

    1. I agree, the color selection is not the best, they should do something about that.

  11. I recently bought myself the Healthy Mix Serum foundation because that is the only Bourjois foundation available here that I haven't try yet. I'm still liking this version though! It's more long-lasting and provides better coverage! :)
