Catrice, My Mermint

by - 9:00:00 AM

Hello lovelies,

today I'd like to talk about this beautiful and unique color from Catrice. Catrice is a drugstore brand from Germany and it's quite popular here. From the all our drugstore brands (well, be sure that we unfortunately don't have Wet n Wild, NYX, CoverGirl or Revlon there, how bad, right?) Rimmel and Catrice are the best brands according me. Everyone raves bout their cream and liquid camouflage concealers, lipsticks and single eyeshadows . This time I decided to try their eyeshadows, but the liquid concealer is on my list next time. I think the price of this is less than $5, which is pretty amazing, isn't ?

Packaging
The packing is made from plastic with 0.10 oz / 3 g of product. It's clear packaging with black logo, looking pretty cheap and it's nothing special, but what would you expect from 5 dollar eyeshadow? On the other hand the clicking system to open and close the eyeshadow is really easy to break so I'm not a big fan of that.

Color
910 My Mermint is greenish turquoise and light sea green color with satin finish. This color is very unique. From one side it looks like a regular light green color, but when you turn this on light, it just showed up like a firework. Not sure, how it explain this, but it looks like there is just a tiny bit of metallic pigment inside what makes it gorgoues.

Pigmentation
The pigmentation is average, you need to build up. And when you use white / black base you get much better color payoff. So I would recommend you to use some base all the time. I always use NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk underneath.

Texture
Texture is kinda rought when I use my finger, it's chalky but not that much powdery. It has little fallout under the eye area, but nothing crazy. I always do my eyes first, so I don't mind to wipe out the fallout before applying foundation.

Application
You can use with brush / wet brush or fingers. Most of the time I use it with a brush, but I always make sure that I pick a denser shading brush which pick more of the product.

Longevity
It gives me four to six hours with eyeshadow primer, without primer maybe 2 hours and it fades during the day.

Overall I think for the price it's a good product, but it's only average on the market. I think this is a very unique color and I'm so glad that I have it in my collection, but the longevity is not surprising that much. Because of the color  I've decided to give this only three stars, but I must warn you.. If you're very picky when it comes to eyeshadows (like me now) I think this should be a pass for you, but if don't mind the average longevity and wants something special to your collection, I would say go for it.
